Premier Lifeline, this year celebrates its 15^th birthday and has taken over 750,000 calls.  However, the last few weeks has been a time when a shockwave has hit the Helpline world.  The trust of the public built up over decades has been undermined by one particular helpline who appeared to breach the trust placed in them by their callers.  The trustworthiness of helplines came under question and a call for regulation and legal control.

Each year Anorexia & Bulimia Care sends a campaign to churches and Christian organisation in order to raise awareness of eating disorders and increase understanding for those affected and their families. This Autumn there are a number of events where Mind and Soul will be represented. 

As there is no Mind and Soul Conference in London this Autumn our Partner organisation Premier Lifeline is holding a Mental Health Conference entitled Mental Health: A Challenge to the Church - An Introduction to Mental Health Issues with a Christian Response.  To be held on Saturday 14th November 2009 - 10am-5pm - with Jonathan Clark  as Speaker in the Chapel at Westminster Central Hall, London - cost is £10 per person.  For further information 

The Mind and Soul Stand will also be at conferences in Lincoln on November 7th and Bristol on November 21st. Come and see us there!

www.bbc.co.uk/headroom is another great site from the Beeb. Full of information, stories and interviews [many by Ruby Wax!] it has lots on offer. my favourite is a little program to create your own moodscape - go on, you know you want to! Even if Ruby is the new self-professed expert on all matters mental, she is funny and the sites moderators keep things in check. It's just a shame there is no section on faith...

Mind and Soul have been asked to coordinate a 'zone' at this years national Christian Resources Exhibition in Esher near London on Tues-Fri 12-15th May. See more information.This 'zone' will draw together many stands at the exhibtion under the general umbrella of Emotional Health. As part of the zone, there will be ten seminars on related topics given by national experts - contributors include: Jonathan Clark and Will Van Der Hart from Mind and Soul as well as Mercy Ministries, the Association of Christian Counsellors, Burrswood Hospital, Christian Healing Mission, Essex Christian Healing, Anorexia and Bulimia Care, Ellel Ministries, Acorn Christian Healing and Green Pastures. Not to mention the 350 stands and 50 other seminars!
